2002 36mm Rolex Explorer I Black Dial ref.114270 Cal.3130 Automatic Watch Only

This Rolex Explorer I represents one of the purest expressions of Rolex’s tool-watch heritage, a design born from the spirit of exploration and refined over decades without losing its original purpose. Its iconic black dial, distinctive 3-6-9 hour markers and understated 36mm stainless steel Oyster case embody the perfect balance between rugged functionality and timeless elegance. As an early-production Y-series example dating to approximately 2002, it retains the clean, unengraved rehaut of its era while incorporating the upgraded calibre 3130 automatic movement and solid end-link Oyster bracelet, marking a significant evolution from its predecessor, the reference 14270. Today, the reference 114270 remains highly regarded for its restrained proportions, remarkable versatility and distinction as the final generation of the classic 36mm Explorer before the introduction of the larger 39mm model in 2010.
