Grand Seiko was once Japan’s best-kept secret as a high-craft luxury watch brand
rivalling Swiss counterparts. However, marketed only in Japan, it was a brand only Japanese residents could enjoy.
When they started taking the brand outside Japan in 2010, the Seiko logo was included, as Seiko was already world-renowned,

whereas Grand Seiko was not. Yet.
These early double-signed dials seem like oddities today with the global meteoric success of Grand Seiko that we are familiar with, but it is for this reason that they are such collectible markers of the brand’s evolution.

This particular example is the SBGX063, a sunburst champagne-dialled, 37mm, quartz beauty that is an absolute joy on the wrist. The beauty of this watch is something no picture or official render can adequately represent vs seeing in person. I honestly cannot take my eyes off it, and have gone back and forth for a week, wondering if I should keep it, or list it for sale.

8/10 watch case and bracelet has signs of daily usage. No huge dents or dings, so a refinishing is possible to back to original state. And in case you’re wondering, yes the seconds hand is perfectly aligned and hits all the seconds markers.
