This Grand Seiko SBGF009 is a rare late-1990s High Accuracy Quartz (HAQ) model, produced in March 1999. Pairing a sparkly silver-white textured dial with oversized 3-6-9-12 Arabic numerals that give it an unusual Explorer-like character. Its compact 36mm steel case and original bracelet keep the design distinctly understated, while the thermocompensated 8J55 HAQ calibre delivers ±10 seconds per year with an independently adjustable hour hand for travel. Produced before Grand Seiko’s modern design language became firmly established, it is one of those less conventional early GS references that feels considerably more interesting today.
