1960s 36mm Longines Automatic Date Silver Dial Ref.7171-1 Cal.291 Watch Only

This Longines Ref. 7171-1 comes from the early 1960s, when Longines was still building its own automatic movements and giving even its simple date watches unusually expressive cases. Its silver dial has developed honest spotting and warm peripheral patina, complemented by applied faceted markers, framed date window and matching angular hands. The standout is the stainless-steel case, with long sharply twisted lugs that give the otherwise restrained 35mm watch a surprisingly architectural presence on the wrist. It is exactly the sort of vintage Longines that matters today: distinctive period design wrapped around a proper manufacture-era movement.
