The Cellini is where Rolex stopped trying to be waterproof and started trying to be elegant.
This early-70s example houses the ultra-thin calibre 1600 — closer in philosophy to Piaget than to an Oyster.
The metallic blue sunburst dial is factory and uncommon, especially without a seconds hand to interrupt the symmetry. 18k White gold case, restrained proportions, and no pretense of sport — pure dress watch Rolex rarely makes anymore.
A reminder that vintage Rolex prestige wasn’t built only on Submariners, but on refinement like this.
